ATV Colorado National Forest Trails:
Enjoy unbelievable Colorado ATV trails right out your front door at Midnight Ranch. Located in the Routt County National Forest, 33 miles north of Steamboat Springs, Midnight Ranch offers the perfect ATV experience with access to hundreds of miles of National Forest trails. Head right into the National Forest and you can ride all the way to Wyoming! There are endless trails, open meadows, forests, mountains and incredible views. Whether you come to our cabins with family or friends, the Colorado ATV trails are for all levels of riders, beginner to expert. Bring your own ATV or ATV rentals are available a short drive away for single day or week rentals, as well as guided tours. Motorcycles are also welcome.
Horseback Riding:
There are several horse outfitters nearby Midnight Ranch – Steamboat Lake Outfitters, Dutch Creek Guest Ranch, Dels Triangle 3 Ranch, and Elk River Guest Ranch. You can bring your own horses and trailer right up to National Forest access. Horseback trail heads you can access from the ranch are Nipple Peak trail head and Circle Bar Basin trail head.
Fly Fishing:
Midnight Ranch welcomes fly fishing on the private 10 acre stocked trout lake. Catch and release only. Bring your own fishing gear or ask us about renting fly fishing equipment. Less than 20 minutes away are some of the best fishing holes in Colorado – Hahn’s Peak Lake, Steamboat Lake, Pearl Lake, the Elk River, Yampa River, and Little Snake River. Request a guide to sharpen your fly fishing skills or just to learn the technique.
Hiking & Mountain Biking :
Midnight Ranch sits on 105 private acres that back up to National Forest. Hike or mountain bike nearby trails and you may see mule deer, fox, chipmunks, and many varieties of birds and wildflowers. Many Colorado National Forest trailheads are nearby like the Nipple Peak trail, Circle Bar Basin trail, or hike to the top of Hahn’s Peak. Some of the best short trails in Colorado are around Steamboat Lake, nearby Hahn’s Peak Lake, and Pearl Lake.
Our cozy cabins offer a great place to recoup after a long hard ride. There are amazing an nationally recognized mountain biking trails in Routt National Forest. Within 20 miles of Midnight Ranch are many designated and rated bike trails like the Crain Park/Elk Horn Loop, the Circle Bar Basin Loop, the Hahns Peak Lake/Nipple Peak Loop, or the Wyoming Trail.
